South Korea’s presidential office announced an emergency meeting on October 28 after several financial companies reported customer-data breaches, Yonhap reported. The affected firms named in its account were Mirae Asset Global Investments, Bithumb and Daishin Securities.

The planned discussion involved financial regulators and was intended to assess damage and prevent additional harm. The announcements do not, by themselves, identify who carried out each attack or prove that all the incidents had the same cause.
