Nokia and ICEYE sign satellite-communications letter of intent with Ukraine

The announcement describes proposed cooperation, not an operational system.

Nokia and ICEYE said on October 22 that they had signed a letter of intent with Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence to explore cooperation on sovereign satellite communications.

The companies said the aim was to strengthen communications under Ukrainian control. A letter of intent is a preliminary step: the announcement does not establish a completed satellite network, a launch date or a replacement already in service.
