WHO told an October 23 UN briefing that 42 health facilities in Yemen’s Taiz city had reported acute shortages. Fuel, oxygen and medicines were among the supplies needed to sustain emergency and other essential care.
OCHA said fighting and road closures had effectively cut off the city for 20 days. Aid organizations warned that remaining stocks were dwindling and called for access to bring in more supplies.
