India evacuates coastal residents as Cyclone Arnab approaches

Authorities are moving people from vulnerable areas ahead of forecast landfall.

Authorities evacuated tens of thousands of residents from vulnerable parts of Andhra Pradesh on October 27 as Cyclone Arnab approached India’s eastern coast, AP reported.

India’s weather agency expected the storm to cross the coast on October 28, with heavy rain and strong winds. Officials prepared shelters and emergency teams. Forecasts can change; residents should follow current official warnings. The photograph is archival coastal context.
