Georgia’s Constitutional Court began hearings in Batumi on October 21 on a ruling-party lawsuit seeking to outlaw five opposition parties, AP reported.

Opposition figures reject the allegations and describe the case as an attempt to remove political competitors. The hearing itself does not establish the parties’ guilt or impose a final ban.
