Libya's eastern-based parliament endorsed a maritime agreement with Turkey on October 20, Reuters reported, citing lawmakers. The decision also reversed a 2020 move to cut political ties with Ankara.

Greece rejected the approval and said the agreement infringed on regional sovereign rights. Those competing positions remain disputed; parliamentary approval does not by itself resolve the Mediterranean boundary disagreement.
